4 Reasons Why You should buy our BULLDOG Kg Training Classic Bumper Plates.

It seems like weightlifting equipment companies in the US have saturated the market. There are many brand options offering similar products, dozens of companies giving free gear and promotions.  There are plenty of options for people who want to work out at home, office, or at any facility where they are allowed to drop weights. If you are looking to buy bumpers just to get your workout of the day done; we might not be appealing for you, as you might perceive us as Expensive!

And you are probably right. We often ask coaches and gym owners if they are looking for bumper plates to fulfill a specific need. If that need is functionality, I will recommend them another company that might adjust to their budget or a brand which they could feel aligned with. However, if the coach and/or gym owner are looking into a super heavy-duty bumper plate to be dropped for weightlifting grassroots and developing program, I will encourage them to give us a try. Features as durability, design, price, and experience, are facts that we are always glad to talk about.

The first reason why you should buy our bumper plates is durability. Most people know at this point that the easiest bumper plates to break are 10s and 15s kilogram bumper plates. Usually because these are the most common used bumper plates in a weight room or weightlifting gym. If you are coaching teenagers or adults, you are probably requiring your athletes to scale their weight up and technically most of your athletes are just on the same average weights which might include 40kg-50kg-60kg-80-100kg. Then, the popular greens and yellows ( according to IWF colored coded standards) are the bumper plates with a heavy traffic of loads to the barbells. These are the thinner bumper plates, which are the ones that are exposed to break while impacting the ground. Since they aren’t designed to resist hundreds of hours of drops, the functionality of the bumper plate in these lower weighs gets compromised. Our BULLDOG bumper plates, specially 10s and 15s are design to last hundreds of hours of drops.

Few brands in the world will give a 10 years functionality life spam to a product nowadays. Our bumper plates are engineered for an everyday use under sever contact with different types of flooring. Then, we provide a 5-year warranty in all our 10s-15s-20s-25s kg training classic bumper plates, even though we know they have been built to last longer than 10 years. We promise, our weights will be durable.

The second reason why you should buy our bumper plates is our design. 95% of bumper plates look the same. Same metal insert hub for training bumper plates, same colors tones, same plastic-ish rubber feeling and even same molds for most of the bumper plates in our market. When you buy a BULLDOG bumper plate, you are getting a classic design where the inside material of the bumper plate is iron cast. Yeah, the old-fashioned way to make bumper plates was iron cast weights coated by rubber. This allowed calibrated bumpers to be dropped for several times. However, once the world and Olympic records started to excel, manufacturers changed the design to a thinner bumper plate that would be most rubber and less iron so the weight into the barbell could be increased.

BULLDOG iron cast hubs

We still design and manufacture our weights the classic way. This iron hub gives a solid foundation to the rubber which sticks firm and steady to the center of the bumper, allowing to be dropped and received hundreds of barbells impacts into the ground. If you see, most CrossFit or weight rooms with metal insert bumpers suffer from loose metal inserts that compromise the athlete’s posture, performance and bumper plate functionality. Most bumper plates with this system end up broken in between 6 to 24 months.

Our bumper plate design will always keep the inside iron hub structure safe without compromising the bumper plate functionality and durability.

The third reason why you should buy our bumper plates is our price. You are paying a unique tangible cost for a weight that would last more than ten years into the future. Which in the long term will be a great investment. The reason why our bumper plate could variate from $9.00 usd per kg to $12.00 usd per kg is because each weight is compound from natural rubber and iron, which means that our bumper plates are made of two separate materials. Each bumper plate has a different percentage of both materials and costs. Most of the American market training bumper plates are very affordable since they are sold for $4.00-5.00 usd per kg. However, these training bumper plates are mainly rubber, which means you are paying for only one material, which usually is a synthetic or SBR rubber which has been processed to reduced manufacturing cost. Would you buy bumper plates that cost $5.00 per kilo and last 3 years or buy bumper plates that cost $9.00 per kg but could last 10 or 20 years into the future? We think the answer is obvious, but we respect each gym owner decisions and necessities. As I said at the beginning, if you only need to do your workout of the day or get a lifting-jam session, you can get another brand; but if you need a heavy-duty bumper plate that last longer and deals with heavy volume sessions from weightlifters, shut putters, or even a complete football team, try our bumper plates they will take the beat.

The fourth reason why you should buy our bumper plates is our experience. Up to this day we still working on ways to improve our quality. However, our brand has manufacture rubber weights aka “bumper plates” for almost three decades. Our bumper plates have been used in facilities with extreme weather conditions and bad flooring in more than 20 Olympic centers in Latin America. We are accountable for knowing how weightlifting equipment works and we do encourage coaches and gym owners to take bumper plates seriously as they are the main tool that brings precision to the lifter.  Our experience manufacturing bumper plates will always get you a better idea of what your gym needs and how things work. We are always looking to go that extra mile to explain how things work and why you should or should not buy from us.

Last, our bumper plates stand out from the rest of companies and brands due to its unique design, construction, materials, and the way we understand how our bumper plates are made to be functional and durable for your program.
